D/R/U/G/S at the Whitworth: Thursday Lates gets a shake up

Susie Stubbs

Electronic music duo D/R/U/G/S headline a late night of music, spoken word and more.

The Whitworth is no stranger to hosting eclectic events – but on Thursday 11 June (4pm-9pm) the gallery goes all out for eclectica as it hosts an evening headlined by the Manchester-based electronic outfit, D/R/U/G/S. Youth arts collective, Whitworth Young Contemporaries, are behind the night of music, performance and workshops and, alongside the headline act is live music from Lady Ice and folk band Project Jam Sandwich, DJ sets, spoken word, dance, performance and even a circus skills workshop.

Go and do something less boring instead

It’s all part of the gallery’s weekly Thursday Lates series, with the galleries open until 9pm and events running right across the building, in spaces ranging from the art garden to the Grand Hall. And, best of all, it’s completely free. So there’s no excuse to head home straight after work and slump in front of the TV, is there? As someone famous once said: go and do something less boring instead.
