Treetop Zip Trek: After Dark at Heaton Park, 6–20 December 2019, from £33 - Book now

Treetop Trek is levelling up their Zip Trek this December, by inviting people to attempt the elevated assault course in the dark. Test your balance, nerves and head for heights as you glide through the trees of Heaton Park into the unknown.

The zip trek sits around eighteen metres above ground level, so each person will be given a head torch to help navigate through the trees. You will have to negotiate twenty three challenges including wobbly upright logs, see-saw style planks and four tiny surf boards, with only your torch and encouragement from the people at each end to help you. These are interspersed with fifteen zip wires, where you can jump off backwards, turn around in mid air and get creative with your flights.

a great way to stay active and get outdoors in the colder months

Heaton Park is one of Manchester’s largest natural spaces, with fields and woodland splaying out from a central 18th century neo gothic home. So expect to hear the presence of the resident wildlife as you move through the course. The park is home to foxes, owls and badgers as well as a whole host of other animals. As the sun sets and the familiar street lights disappear into the distance you’ll be able to feel yourself becoming immersed in their world.

Whether you’ve done the course before and want to challenge yourself further, or have yet to try on a harness, this unique way of experiencing a post dusk trek is a great way to stay active and get outdoors in the colder months. Due to the intensity of the Zip Trek after dark, there is a strict age limit of over 16’s only.
