We’re thrilled that New Adventures and Matthew Bourne are returning to The Lowry this summer with their passionate and contemporary reimagining of Shakespeare’s classic love story, Romeo and Juliet.

Exploding with the spontaneity of youth, young love and vitality – Romeo and Juliet is the perfect story for Matthew Bourne’s signature storytelling.

In this world premiere production, the UK’s brightest young dance talent join the New Adventures company, with stunning direction and bold choreography by Matthew Bourne. As part of New Adventures’ ambition to support the next generation of on-stage talent this production will feature the finest emerging male and female young dancers from around the UK.

Romeo and Juliet will be set to Terry Davies’ new orchestrations of Prokofiev’s magnificent score, played live by the New Adventures Orchestra; Lez Brotherston’s sumptuous costumes and sets are always a highlight and compliment Bourne’s stunning choreography perfectly; Paule Constable’s atmospheric lighting design completes the line-up of creatives in this must-see dance production.
