This year, the John Moores Painting Prize celebrates 60 years as the UK’s best known and longest running painting competition. Launched in 1957, it has been won by leading British artists including David Hockney, Peter Doig and Rose Wylie. 60 artists make up the 2018 exhibition, which is filled with works that cover a spectrum of artistic styles, from the realist to surreal.
