Make your own crafty Christmas presents or design some more personal festive decorations for your home, with this Christmas tealight decorating workshop. Join Neeka at Chapter One Books as she combines Henna techniques with acrylic paint to create these delicate and adorable tea lights.
In the workshop you will use Henna cones filled with acrylic paint to design your own Christmas tea lights. With approximately eight people in the group you’ll find this mindful activity in an intimate group a perfect way to socialise and relax, in a time of year that can be overwhelming. The afternoon begins with a short demonstration, after which you’ll be free to decorate your tea lights however you wish. You can add a bit of sparkle to your candles in the form of colourful rhinestones as well as paint.
Everyone is given 20 tea lights and each workshop lasts around 2.5 hours. However, don’t feel pressured by time, those who don’t manage to finish their tea lights in the session are welcome to take paints home to finish them at their leisure. Pre Booking is essential because of limited numbers, so be sure to get in early.
Working under the name Designsbynn Neeka has been running workshops since 2013 and has been helping people embrace their creativity at Chapter One, for around a year. As an artist her specialism lies in Henna design. She found that the lack of colour available in skin design was limiting, as a reaction to this, she branched out, experimented with different paints and started using her skills with acrylics.
