Win a pair of tickets to an exclusive ‘in conversation’ talk between Jake Chapman and Tim Marlow, plus free Friends membership to Manchester Art Gallery
Jake Chapman is one half of the famous duo, Jake and Dinos Chapman. Rising to prominence in the early 1990s (as part of the Young British Artists), and counting Tracey Emin and Damien Hirst as their stablemates, Jake and Dinos Chapman have consistently pushed artistic boundaries. Much of the brothers’ work gets under the skin of the social and moral values that underpin contemporary British society – and their work often makes for uncomfortable viewing as a result.
The Disasters of War, one of the Chapmans’ most influential works, is currently on show at Manchester Art Gallery alongside a selection of etchings by Francisco de Goya. On 5 November, Jake is coming to Manchester to speak at an exclusive event at Manchester Art Gallery. He’ll be talking to Tim Marlow, the respected writer, broadcaster and Director of Exhibitions at White Cube, about the influence of Goya on his work. Controversial, irreverent and outspoken, Jake Chapman promises to front a talk that will be talked about.
This event is closed to everyone bar the Gallery’s Friends – but Creative Tourist is able to offer a pair of tickets, plus a year’s free membership to the Gallery’s Friend’s scheme to boot. This competition has now closed. It was won by Chris Paul.
