Ones to watch. Who do you rate?

Creative Tourist launches a new series designed to profile the creative, entrepreneurial people we think are tipped for the big time – and we want your help

Everybody knows a few of them. They are the people from whom you expect great things. Maybe they’re just starting out in their career, or maybe, for some reason, they haven’t yet received the wider recognition their talents merit. But they’re people to keep an eye on, people you might tell a friend or a colleague about, people whose work you follow with interest.

At Creative Tourist, we know that the Northwest is bursting with people like this, and we’re especially interested in finding out more about the talented men and women making their highly individual mark on the region’s cultural sector. People with their own style and vision. People who are doing something brave, something different.

Over the coming months, we’re going to be seeking out these people and profiling them in a series called Ones to Watch. And we need your help: we want you to tip us off about who to profile. Many of these folks are much too shy – or much too busy – to blow their own horn. So it’s up to you to make sure the world (well, at least the part of it that reads Creative Tourist) knows just how amazing they are.

Who are we interested in hearing about? Well, everyone from designers to writers and chefs to conductors. Artists and musicians of all kinds. Not forgetting choreographers, poets, academics, directors, filmmakers, crafters, curators and thinkers. Have we left anyone out? Movers and shakers and makers and do-ers. That should cover it. If someone is individually making a significant contribution to the cultural life of the region, we want to know about them.

Send your suggestions to us at info at creativetourist dot com. Please put ‘one to watch’ in the subject line, and tell us exactly why they’re worth watching. And before you ask, no, you can’t nominate yourself…
