Crib sheet. Your guide to…People’s History Museum.
Feb 25, 2010 | Comments: 0
We are good to you here at Creative Tourist. As well as our lovely Cultural Calendar 2010, we have produced a series of ‘crib sheets’ around some of this season’s biggest art shows – for you to download and bring with you when you plan a visit to Manchester.
First up, it’s the People’s History Museum. Unless you’ve had your head in a bucket, you’ll have noticed that something is afoot down by the River Irwell. After a £12.5m re-fit, the museum, the only such establishment in the UK dedicated to the history of British democracy, has re-opened. Tomorrow night (26 Feb), the museum hosts its opening party; 6 March sees its ‘official’ opening.
Find out more about this fascinating museum – download our crib sheet here. For more ideas on things to do in Manchester, check out our spring city guide (we’ve a handy section on what else is close by the museum should you head to that part of town), or check out some of the behind the scenes photos we took just before it flung open its doors to a curious public.
