In this exclusive vodcast with The Lowry, Maggi Hambling describes the ‘vast and impossible subject’ that is the sea, a force of nature that she loves and does battle with in equal measure. Her personal obsession with the sea is documented in a new exhibition at The Lowry, which hangs her abstract paintings alongside the little-known seascapes of the Salford-born painter, LS Lowry.
