Shopping in Manchester
From boutique to designer, shopping in Manchester is never dull. Here’s our guide
Selfridges: high end and occasionally high octane shopping, with everything from big name labels, sunglasses and cosmetics to edgy high street brands (and a champagne bar to boot).
Harvey Nichols: a worthy rival to Selfridges, with designer brands alongside a wonderful food hall and bistro.
Northern Quarter boutiques: head to Manchester’s creative quarter for vintage, vinyl, tiny boutiques and a retail experience you’ll not find anywhere else.
Manchester Craft & Design Centre: unique jewelry, accessories and artwork from some of the UK’s best designer-makers, all housed in a Victorian former market hall.
House of Fraser (Kendal’s): the original Mancunian department store (once owned by Harrod’s, no less) and, some may say, still the best.
Manchester Arndale: everything from the high street under one (rain-proof) roof. While it won’t rock your world, it will sell you pretty much anything your heart desires.
