App

Just visiting? We’ve got an app for that. Find your way through Manchester with the new Creative Tourist iPhone app. Download the app from iTunes here.

Find your way through Manchester with Creative Tourist. Whether you’re looking for inspiration about which of Manchester’s cultural treats to try first, tips from locals on the best cafes and bars, fancy taking a walking tour with a mobile guide, or want to discover more about the city’s fascinating past, Creative Tourist’s new Manchester iPhone app will lead you there.

What’s in the app.? Four things. 1) Practical information about Manchester’s museums and galleries, and what’s currently on in each venue. 2) Historical information (taken from Wikipedia) about key landmarks and events that shaped Manchester’s great history. 3) A range of guided walking tours of the city – our app. leads you point-to-point using maps and text. 4) Insider tips on the best restaurants, bars and cafes near to where you are. This info is taken direct from Foursquare so it provides an honest (rather than a PR’s) description of the city.

Who is the app. for? It’s good for both visitors to Manchester and locals. The app. provides a mix of historical and visitor information, as well as up-to-the-minute exhibition and cultural event listings.
